Dr. Rodrigues has worked and continues to collaborate with world-renowned pigment and skin of colour centres in the U.S.A, Europe and Asia. She has published extensively in scientific medical journals and dermatology textbooks and continues to be invited to lecture locally and internationally.

She has been on the board of directors of the Skin of Color Society, is a current council member for the Asian Society for Pigment Cell Research, is on the medical advisory board of the Global Vitiligo Foundation and is a council member of the Vitiligo Association of Australia. She has also served as international ambassador for global dermatology conferences and is the Global Skin of Colour clinical lead for the Passion Project which aims to use artificial intelligence to diagnose common skin conditions in children.

In addition to her clinical, education and research endeavours, Dr Rodrigues is committed to outreach work for rural and remote communities and those in need. In 2017, Dr. Michelle Rodrigues assembled a dermatology team that saw and treated hundreds of patients in remote villages in the north of India through a non-for-profit outreach organisation, Sampan. In 2019, she partnered with Pacific Dermatology Limited to provide education and clinical supervision to the first cohort of doctors completing a Diploma in dermatology in the Pacific Islands.
